Swords of Eveningstar (The Knights of Myth Drannor book 1) by Ed Greenwood

The young forester Florin Falconhand comes across a friend who is escorting a pain in the neck young noblewoman to his lord for him to try to civilise her. The adventure hungry Florin comes up with a scheme and after getting his friends permission kidnaps the noblewoman and takes her on a three day trek through the forest. Just as he s about to return her he hears and attack and rushes in. During the battle King Azoun comes across the battle and young Florin saves the kings life. As his reward Florin and his firends are awarded a charter to be adventurers and so is born the Swords of Eveningstar. This is one of Ed Greenwoods best it is funny and action packed and quite hard to put down. We see in this bookthat Cormyr has a high turn over in WarWizards (Not a jod with a high survival rate) and see that start of the famous Knights of Myth Drannor when they were less experianced as a walking disaster.
