The forces of castle Trintiy have moved on to attack Shilmista forest after their failure at the Edificant Library this time they are using brute force sending their army of monsters. Cadderly is sent to the forest to learn more about the forces ranged against the region. Cadderly is pushed to the limit as and is forced to re-examine himself after the challenges he faces.

Cadderly is very annoying in this book spending a lot of it like a sulky baby but the other characters more than make up for it and make it a very funny and entertaining book.
