Lies of Light (The Watercourse Trilogy Book 2) by Philip Athans

Ivar Devorast is trying to build his canal but is surrounded by powerful enemies and very few allies. Willem Korvan is getting more pathetic and while drinking does everything he is told to do. (He seems to be losing his mind) Phyrea is hanging on the line between sanity and madness. And Marek Rymut is gaining power, manipulating everyone and havin everything happen as he wishes it.

I liked Whisper of Waves but was not fussed with this book Willem and Phyrea just really irritate me and it ruins the book for me. Every character in this book is a bit strange but I like Ivar as a character a genius that does not care about anything other that his project.
