Hogfather by Terry Pratchett

Susan Sto-Helit only wants a normal life but as Hogswatch gets closer the supernatural world starts to drag her back in. When she finds her grandfather is acting as the Hogfather she can feel his old job calling to her and she determines to find out what has happened to the real Hogfather. Can she find him before it is too late and the Sun never rises again?

This is among my top four Discworld books and is by far the best of the books with Death as the main character. I think one of the best bits in the book is the part when we are being told about Susan dealing with the monsters bothering the children.
