Empress Lerena Kevleren has killed her sister, all the Kevleren’s in Rivald and every Beloved loved by a Kevleren now nearly overwhelmed by overflowing Sefid and tottering on the edge of sanity she invades Kevlerenless Rivald to add it to her empire.

I did not really like the first book and Maddyn dying removed the only character I liked. So I did not start they book with high hopes. I found myself only interested in the events in the new land because the insane Hamilian Kevlerens and the pointless Rivaldian leaders bored. I also was not to fussed with Numoya Kevlerens story as he seemed to act like a whiney child. But I really enjoyed the events in Kydan as they tried to avoid a civil war and make the colonists and Kydans into one people.
