Trouble has returned to the Derzhi Empire the emperor has been killed and Prince Aleksander has been blamed and forced to flee for his life. As Aleksander tries to survive and rally support to take back his empire he is aided by his most loyal friend Seyonne. But Seyonne has his own problems as he is struggling to control mad rages he is suffering and nightmare he is sure are being sent to him by the nameless god. Can Aleksander regain his empire and remove the cruel usurpers and can Seyonne defeat the nameless god while retaining his humanity or will he be the one to destroy the world, as he fears.

I really enjoyed this book and thought it a good conclusion to the trilogy. I was upset by al the minor characters that I liked who were killed off but the deaths were needed for the story. I did get irritated with Seyonne showing a stupid side that we had not seen in the previous books but on the whole a good book that I found hard to put down.
